Description

In this Sylius Academy episode, we take a closer look at how the built-in email system works in Sylius. Based on the Symfony Mailer component and the Sylius Mailer Bundle, it supports sending various types of messages out of the box, including:

registration confirmation,
password reset,
order confirmation,
shipment confirmation,
contact form messages.

You’ll learn:

how emails are rendered using Twig templates and sent via Symfony Mailer,
how to test emails using MailHog, Mailtrap, or Symfony Profiler,
how to configure sending methods through .env or Docker overrides (via MAILER_DSN),
how order and registration-related messages behave in real scenarios.

You’ll also see how Sylius disables email sending by default in production until properly configured. Finally, this episode sets the stage for advanced topics like custom templates and new email types.
